APPLY FOR FUNDING NOW – MULDER

Local State MP, Terry Mulder has urged local sporting Clubs, regional sporting leagues and associations and local active recreation Clubs to apply for funding under the recently launched VicHealth Active Club Grants progam.

“The program provides grants up to $2,500 to assist with the purchase of essential sporting equipment, injury prevention equipment, portable shade and volunteer training,” Mr Mulder said.

“Grants such as these are of great assistance to Clubs who sometimes find it difficult to fund items or activities and to attract new participants,” he said.

“It is important to encourage the involvement of people who are currently inactive, or who face barriers to participation,” Mr Mulder said. “These groups could include indigenous communities, older adults, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those with disabilities and those from low socia-economic communities.”

Clubs can apply for this grant online through VicHealth’s website at www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/activeclub.  Alternatively, a hard copy of the application form can be obtained by phoning VicHealth on 9667 1333.

“I would recommend to all local Clubs that they apply for this Grant

thereby taking the opportunity of perhaps encouraging more members to their organisations and enabling them to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of participation,” Mr Mulder said.
